Vermeil Garnet Estate Earrings and Necklace Set

Sterling Silver plated with yellow gold matching set of estate earrings & necklace. The necklace measures 17.5″ total. In the center is a 3 tier floral garnet element. Beside that are another two smaller garnet flowers on each side, capped by two garnet clovers on each side. The entire decorative area of the necklace measures 4.5″. Each of the spring rings connecting the elements is soldered shut, and then connected to a rope chain with a spring ring clasp. The earrings have a screw-shut closure for unpierced ears. Each earring includes the same 3-tier garnet flower featured in the center of the necklace, but on a slightly smaller scale. The garnets featured in this set are called Bohemian garnets, named after the hills of Bohemia, where they were mined (after WWI Bohemia became Czechoslovakia and today is in Czech Republic).

Umbalite Garnet is a very high quality version of the Rhodolite Garnet. It generally comes from one location, the Umba valley in Tanzania. Just like Rhodolite, it flashes with purple and rose colors. Umbalite garnet is a relatively new gemstone to the market.
